On the sidelines of the sixth Cairo Water Week. the Sea Level Rise Hackathon session was launched in Egypt
On the sidelines of the Sixth Cairo Water Week, a session entitled Hackathon on Sea Level Rise in Egypt: Impacts and Adaptation Options for Addressing Accelerated Sea Level Rise was launched. The session was attended by the team of the #eccadp project, Deltares, the International Panel of Deltas and Coasts, the Joint Cooperation Program on Applied Research in Water, and stakeholders from various sectors and climate ambassadors. A hackathon is a term derived from the field of information technology and is an event implemented by the United Nations. In the field of politics, it means bringing together experts and policymakers to develop a plan to deal with dangerous events, in order to facilitate the way they discuss with each other. The primary objective of this hackathon is to explore the challenges and adaptation pathways for climate-resilient socio-economic development in the Nile Delta and the Egyptian coast under rapid economic growth and accelerated sea level rise.
